Getting started, using LYS on site, sharing and ownership, and pricing.
Yes — and you can start today. Register for free, create a project for that site and take a photo of something spare. LYS builds the record for you, and you can invite the whole site team at no cost, so you can see what you find on your own project before deciding anything else. If a project needs more capacity, you can upgrade just that project to Pro. If you’re looking to roll LYS out across a whole portfolio, talk to us about Enterprise — we start with a workshop and value assessment with your team.
Anything in good condition that could be reused: bricks and blocks, timber, plasterboard, insulation, steel, roof tiles, pipes and cabling, windows, doors, sanitaryware, furniture, kitchens, light fittings, tools, temporary works, signage and more. Whether it’s spare, surplus, from a strip-out or at end of life, if it’s still usable it can be listed.
No. LYS started in construction, but it works for any organisation with spare products or materials, from fit-out and facilities management to suppliers, public bodies, schools and charities.
We’re built to fit around the way you already work — not replace it. The starting point is simply a phone and a photo, with no rip-and-replace implementation. You can register and start using LYS straight away on the web, iOS or Android. For organisations rolling LYS out across a portfolio, the Enterprise plan includes integrations and SSO with your existing systems.
This is exactly what LYS is built for. Your team snaps a few photos and each product is captured in under a minute. Our AI helps populate the description, weight and key product details, giving you visibility of what’s on site so you can route it to another project, a colleague, a yard or a charity before the site clears, so valuable products or materials aren’t thrown away simply because time ran out.
Yes. A demolition happens over a short window, but live projects can run for months or years and produce surplus at every stage. Your team can register items as packages finish or plans change, so they can be claimed by other packages, your next project or a local organisation before they’re skipped.
Yes. Before you order anything new, walk the site and take quick pictures — LYS logs each item in seconds and tells you what you’ve already got. Those existing products or materials become a searchable inventory from day one, helping your team reuse what’s already there before ordering new.
No — that’s one of our core design principles. A product can be registered in under a minute from a phone, even with poor signal. AI helps populate the key information automatically, so site teams spend less time on administration and more time getting products or materials back into use.
LYS provides visibility and traceability — it doesn’t decide whether a product is suitable for reuse. Teams can record condition, photos, manufacturer information and supporting documents, while your existing approval processes remain in place. That means every organisation keeps control over its own quality and compliance standards.
More than most organisations realise. To avoid delays, projects often order more products or materials than they expect to use. Much of that surplus is never formally recorded, making it invisible and difficult to reuse. LYS captures these products as they become available, turning hidden inventory into a reusable asset instead of waste.
Too often, yes. Spare products or materials frequently remain unrecorded before being cleared into skips at the end of a project or phase. LYS changes that by making them visible across your portfolio and giving teams clear options to reuse, store, donate or recycle them — while tracking the outcome for reporting.
Yes. If you already have a local charity, school, community group or supplier in mind, you can add them to your project as collaborators — at no extra cost, as every plan includes unlimited users. You can then share products or materials with them directly in LYS, and every hand-over is recorded, so you keep a full audit trail of what went where and the social value it created.
Ownership never changes hands by default. Whoever paid for the product or material — main contractor or subcontractor — keeps ownership until they choose to share, reuse internally or donate it. LYS records a clear chain of custody at every step, so it’s always transparent who holds a product, who claims it, and where it ends up.
Not necessarily — and LYS helps teams make informed decisions. By comparing the value of the product or material with the effort and distance involved, you can quickly see when reuse makes commercial sense. Where transport outweighs the benefit, the platform makes that clear.
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited users, unlimited projects, up to 50 listings per project, 30 AI recognitions per project per month and basic reporting. No card is needed to start.
LYS is free to start. Every project starts on the Free plan, with unlimited users and unlimited projects. Pro is €99 per project per month for projects that need more capacity, and you only upgrade the projects that need it. Enterprise is priced to suit organisations rolling LYS out across a portfolio. See the Pricing page for the full details.
When a project outgrows the Free limits. Pro gives that project unlimited listings, 300 AI recognitions per month and advanced reporting. You upgrade project by project, so a company with 20 projects could upgrade 3 and pay 3 × €99 per month. To upgrade, email contact@loopyourspare.com with the project name and we’ll switch it over for you.
No. Every plan includes unlimited users. Invite your whole team, consultants and partners at no cost — collaboration is what makes reuse work.
